Parking is in a privately owned, (not by The Vestry), car park close by. Charges are £1.40 per hour, but the B&B provide free parking vouchers covering 6pm to 10am. The pub itself was empty and a bit chilly when we arrived, (2pm), but the welcome was warm, and with a smile. Checking in was easy and quick. It might be a bit slower if you try to check in later when the pub is busier. The room was quite large, clean, and had tea/coffee making facilities, (UHT milk), really nice biscuits and chocolates on the bed. Nice fluffy towels too. Decor was a little tired, but better than many. There was a little mould on the grouting just above the bath in 2-3 places, but it was minimal. I found the bed a bit firm, and the duvet was hollow fibre, but frankly, at these prices I didn't mind at all. Breakfast consisted of fruit juices, cereals, yoghurts, and a selection of cooked items. My scrambled egg was quite badly overdone and rubbery, but was served quickly and in a very friendly manner. In summary, The Vestry has no significant flaws, and the unfailingly friendly and welcoming service makes up for the little issues. Really good value.
